It is our goal at Wildwood Montessori School to create a learning environment that encourages every student to become a self-directed learner, free thinker, and creative problem solver. Using Montessori materials and methods our vision is to cultivate a love of learning and compassion in every child.

We offer an alternative approach to the way children are educated in the Camden, NY and the surrounding areas. We provide a Montessori education to children ages 3 through 14 (8th grade).

We look forward to growing with our students, and plan to expand to older students in the future. Each level will be tailored to the child to meet their changing needs.

We follow the Montessori approach, where an emphasis is placed on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological development. The following are hallmarks of a Montessori classroom and are utilized at our school:

  • mixed age classrooms
  • student choice of activity from within a prescribed range of options
  • uninterrupted blocks of work time
  • a constructivist or ‘discovery’ model, where students learn concepts from working with materials, rather than by direct instruction
  • specialized educational materials developed by Montessori and her collaborators

  4. So happy to hear of the opportunity you have brought to this area. My grandchildren live in Moscow Idaho and were very blessed to both attend the “Blue Willow”. God bless you and your endeavor.
